My Wild India

My father used to describe himself as 'a nut', and you know what, I wholeheartedly agree. The man got kicked out of school, decided to study as a naval radio officer just because he loved TinTin growing up and because of the travel opportunities, passed the gruelling examination in record time, travelled the world for two decades, got bored of the sea, quit the job, learnt photography from scratch, and became a prominent naturalist and conservationalist in northeast India.....so yeah.
The reason there are >10 countries in my travel page was because I got bit by the travel bug listening to his crazy stories about the world at a time where it was rare for Indians to be able to travel internationally. I did make it a point to try to reach even 50% of his travelling capacity, which albeit being a tall order, did lead me to achieve some of my childhood dreams. Things don't always go as planned, so I cannot ever talk to him about that last part or exchange notes, but what I can do is keep that part of him alive that I saw in front of me growing up - exploring the wild places of India - and sharing some of his art and experiences with others. This page is a tribute to him, and to the wild places of India that he loved so much. I hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I enjoyed creating it ;)
P.S. Since this is a page about places inside India, I have included some non-wild places some of my family and I have been to, as I am sure there are many people who do not have much of an idea what India can offer....and they might be surprised!
